Fighting in the Central African Republic has left two people dead and another 20 wounded, AFP reports. The attack took place during an important constitutional referendum that was hoped to end long-standing sectarian violence between Muslims and Christians.
The incident took place in the Muslim district of the capital of Bangui, when assailants opened fire with machine guns and rocket launchers. The target was a school where voting was being held.
UN peacekeepers quickly stepped in to protect civilians.
