A Taliban attack on the main airport in Kandahar left at least 37 people dead today (Wednesday). The raid came as Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is pushing to restart peace talks.
The airport is also host to a military base used by NATO and Afghan forces. This is believed to be the most series attack on the site over the past 14 years.
Witnesses told AFP that the attackers took hostages.
