Seven people were killed in the Burundi capital of Bujumbura today (Wednesday). Local residents told Associated Press that police forced five people out of their homes, then shot them.
The deaths are only the latest in the wave of violence that has accompanied President Pierre Nkurunziza's refusal to leave office after his term ended. According to the United Nations, at least 240 people have been killed since April.
