The US Supreme Court is reexamining a Texas case against affirmative action. The case, which is seeing its second hearing in three years, was brought by a white woman who claims that she was rejected by the University of Texas due to her race.

Abigail Fisher's lawyers say that she was denied admittance while other, less-qualified candidates, did as a result of affirmative action policies. The lawyers argue that there are a number of other programs already in place to ensure minority students have the opportunity for higher education without harming majority students.

The last time the Supreme Court looked into Fisher's case, they upheld the right of universities to use affirmative action 7-1, with one abstention.
