Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with German President Joachim Gauck during the latter's visit to Israel in honor of 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Israel and Germany.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized the unique relationship between the two countries, which is marked by a tragic past alongside constantly looking towards deep future relations based on their shared values.
President Gauck noted the German people's and leaders' deep commitment towards the State of Israel's security. Netanyahu then thanked Gauk, Chancellor Angela Merkel, and the German people "for the partnership and the support which I have received from Germany."
