The relatives of Tashfeen Malik, one of the two shooters in last week's attack in California, say that they "feel ashamed" by her.

"We are ashamed and shocked about this act done by our niece -- why did she do something so gruesome? We can't believe it," her uncle told AFP. Other relatives explained that Malik's father had started becoming more extreme a number of years ago and broke off contact with much of the family.

Malik and her husband, Syed Farook, killed 14 people in a social services center, an attack that ISIS strongly praised.
