Representatives from many of Syria's fragmented opposition groups, political and armed, will meet in the Saudi capital this week in a bid to find common ground ahead of potential negotiations with the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, AFP reports.
The guest list includes the Syrian National Coalition, the Cairo Conference, the National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change, and a number of independent figures. However, the Kurdish People's Protection Units says that it has not been invited, nor has the Syrian Democratic Forces.
