An inmate felt ill on Thursday morning at the Dekel Prison and collapsed in his jail cell. Magen David Adom volunteer paramedics attempted to treat the inmate, but were forced to pronounce him dead.
The 58-year-old eastern Jerusalem prisoner was serving an eight-month sentence for property crimes and suffered from poor health. He most likely died from a cardiac event.
