Europol, the European Union's police service, says that authorities have arrested 23 suspects believed to be part of a human trafficking gang. The gang has reportedly illegally smuggled thousands of asylum seekers into Europe in exchange for almost €10 million ($10.6 million US).
Associated Press reports that the arrests took place in Greece, Austria, Sweden, and the UK.
The arrested individuals are mostly Greeks and Syrians, though the head of the group was in Liverpool, in England.
