Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday said his country does not need foreign ground troops, Reuters reported.
The comments came after the United States said it was sending an elite special unit to help combat Islamic State. Al-Abadi stressed that any such move in Iraq “cannot happen without its approval and coordination and full respect of Iraqi sovereignty.”
