Police from Italy and Kosovo police have arrested four people from Kosovo for belonging to a jihadist cell and threatening Pope Francis, Reuters reports.

Three of the four were arrested in Italy, while the fourth was in Kosovo. All are accused of "inciting racial hatred" and "condoning terrorism" by sharing Islamist propaganda online.

"They were threatening the pope, celebrating the recent attacks in Paris and threatening the former US ambassador to Kosovo," said a local Italian police chief. However, police added that they have been not be implicated in any particular planned crimes.
