An al-Qaeda branch in Yemen is threatening the Saudi Arabian government over its plan to execute more than 50 prisoners convicted of terrorism, Reuters reports

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) says that, should Saudi Arabia execute its members, it will carry out reprisal attacks.

"We swear to God, our blood will be shed before the blood of our captives, and their pure blood will not dry before we shed the blood of the soldiers of Al Saud," AQAP wrote on Twitter. "We will not enjoy life unless we get the necks of the Al Saud rulers."
