Marcus Klingberg, the highest ranking Soviet spy ever caught in Israel, passed away on Monday at the age of 97.
Klingberg began spying for the Soviet Union in 1957, nine years after having immigrated to Israel. He was tried and sentenced to 20 years in prison following his confession in 1983. After his release from prison in 2003, he moved to Paris.
