Prosecutors have filed charges against a Rahat resident who allegedly tried to smuggle banned material into Gaza.
The suspect worked with a dealer inside of Gaza, and the two intended to transfer commercial quantities of welding coil, which is considered a security risk and requires permission.
According to prosecutors, the accused knew that the products would end up in the hands of Hamas and would likely present a security threat to Israel.
