Egyptians are in the midst of a two-day election, as the second part of the country's parliamentary elections. This is Egypt's first national election since a court dissolved the Muslim Brotherhood-run legislature in 2012.
The first round of voting took place in 14 provinces last month, and saw a voter turnout of about 27 percent, Associated Press reports. The current round is expected to have similarly low levels of participations.
Many blame President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi for the lackluster elections, saying that he has been cracking down on numerous political opponents.
