Paz Cohen, head of Jerusalem’s parents’ union, said following the publication of the General Education Measures in Schools (GEMS) report for 2015 Tuesday that “The education system in the State of Israel is not equal for everyone. The growing social gaps most precisely reflect the students’ achievements and the gap between the rich and the poor keeps growing.”
“The report’s findings prove the claims: tell me who your parents are and I will tell you what you will achieve. Education Minister Naftali Bennett inherited an unequal education system. It is up to Bennett t break the mold and allocate funds in a differential manner,” Cohen said.
