Yesh Atid head Yair LApid began his party's meeting today (Monday) by criticizing the Financial Committee's approval for the IDF draft bill.
"In order for [MK Bezalel] Smotrich to receive what's his, the government sold the IDF fighter yesterday, just as the Knesset assembly will do today. They needed the votes of the Haredi parties in order to divide the money amongst themselves, so they canceled the equal burden clause. They will tell IDF soldiers: 'We lied. Not everyone is equal before the law. Not everyone needs to enlist. You're suckers again.'"
Lapid added, "What will I say to my son when he gets out this weekend? What will I tell him? Smotrich sold him? That Netanyahu doesn't care about him? That Kahlon promised to fight for him but now he's disappeared? That Bogie, our highest commander, sold him for coalition agreements and for his political survival? How will I look him in the eyes? What is he supposed to understand about our country?"
