A large crowd gathered at Jerusalem's Safra Square this evening (Sunday) in order to express their solidarity with the French people.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat spoke during the event, along with French Consul Hervé Magro and MK Nurit Koren (Likud).

During Barkat's speech, he stated that "At this time, when the wave of terror is crossing seas and continents, the entire world understands what we are experiencing in Israel and in Jerusalem every day. Therefore we must stand strong, powerful, and take the offense on the front - against the bloody terror organizations and because terror is the same in Jerusalem, in Paris, and in southern Har Hevron. Against this evil, the entire world must unite and fight terror for the sake of our world's values and for the sake of our existence."
