Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has announced that his country does not consider Hezbollah to be a terrorist organization.
Instead, he told Interfax news agency that "We maintain contacts and relations with them because we do not consider them a terrorist organization."
Moscow has been pushing for an international agreement on the Syrian civil war, which would specify which groups are considered terrorist and which can be welcomed into a final settlement.
