The head of the Tel Aviv labor court, Efrat Lasker, has rejected a request from Israel Rail for an order to force the company's employees to continue working. Instead, Lasker ruled that both sides should hold another meeting tonight (Sunday) and then update the court.
The rail workers' union emphasizes that its instructions to workers were to not let passengers off the trains before reaching the destinations. "The railway administration is at fault for refusing to clear the systems, creating congestion on the platforms and thus causing passengers to alight too early," a statement said.
