Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein has instructed Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) to give the annual "preventing the increase of cats animals" budget for use in neutering animals and not for research, as he had hoped.
Last week Ariel announced that he intended to use the 4.5 million shekels ($1.15 million US) to find halachically-acceptable means of dealing with stray cats and dogs.
