MK Yair Lapid said at the protest tent against the desire to cancel the bill for equal army service (which would require haredi men to serve in the IDF), that “What we see before us is a terrible wrongdoing and an attempt to divide the State of Israel and nation of Israel. Instead of the criminal sanctions lie, the principle of equality is now being annulled. We are not against the haredi population; we are in favor of equality.”
“Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu voted in favor of the bill four times. Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon voted in favor as well. Now they are cancelling the bill because the budget needs to be passed and they are conceding to extortion.”
