The Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee debated on Wednesday morning the “Pat-down law,” which permits police officers to physically search a person’s body, even if there is no reasonable fear that the suspect is armed.
The Committee’s Chairman, Nissan Slomiansky, said at the start of the meeting that “The law is problematic in its current format. It leans towards unreasonable infringement of an individual’s privacy.”
