Prosecutors have filed charges against a 17-year-old resident of Bnei Brak for armed robbery and assault. The suspect is being detained until the end of the court process.

According to the statement, the youth entered the store at a Ramat Gan gas station last week and threatened the worker with a handgun and pepper spray. The worker opened the cash register but it was empty.

While trying to escape, the suspect sprayed several customers with the pepper spray.

Police say that they were previously acquainted with the youth, and that they believe the gun was not real.
