Tel Aviv prosecutors have filed charges against a 32-year-old man for two counts of extortion.
The accused allegedly carried out his actions against two high-tech companies. He wrote them each e-mails claiming that, because their servers were located in Russia, he was able to steal personal and credit card information belonging to about 1,000 of each company's clients.
In exchange for not sharing the information, he demanded that each pay him tens of thousands of dollars.
