Earlier this morning (Monday) Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon (Kulanu) suggested that his ministry could veto Cellcom's purchase of Golan Telecom.

"We will ensure the existence of cellular competition," Kahlon told representatives from Calcalist and the Ashdot Municipality. "We won't allow the sale of Golan Telecom to Cellcom."

He added that, "Over the past few days I have been hearing that the Finance Ministry has no authority to stop the sale - I say to them that we have the authority."
