UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, has voted to allow the United States to remain on its executive board, even though the US no longer funds the organization.
The US withdrew its funding in 2011, after UNESCO admitted "Palestine" as a member. US law forbids giving money to international organizations that recognize a Palestinian state.
