The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Paul Ryan (R-WI), says that the prisoners being held in Guantanamo Bay must stay in the facility.
"Guantanamo detainees should be in Guantanamo," Ryan said during a press conference.
Closing the detention facility was one of President Barack Obama's early campaign pledges, and reports suggest that he is looking into doing so now. Numerous prisoners have been held there for years without trial, for which the US has received criticism from around the world.
