Opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog called on Thursday for new Hasbara (public diplomacy) chief Dr. Ran Baratz to be dismissed at once.
“The head of our national Hasbara is not the Prime Minister’s personal parrot. It is an important public role within the holiest of holy sanctuaries of the State of Israel, the Prime Minister’s offices.”
According to Herzog, “A man who talks derogatorily about President Obama, who slanders US Secretary of State Kerry and, worst of all, belittles the President of his beloved country… must go home at once, before he has even arrived. It was poor judgment to think that a man like this is the right fit for a public role and so I implore Netanyahu to stop Baratz’s appointment at once.”
