According to sources in the US Congress, Israel wishes to increase its annual aid to $5 billion after its current package expires in 2017. For now, Israel received $3 billion per year from the United States.
Reuters reports that Israel argues the money is needed in response to threats that are arising as a result of the recent Iran agreement.
