A spokesperson for US President Barack Obama says that he still intends to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, and will look into "all options" in order to do so. The comment came into response to a question as to whether President Obama would close it even without congressional approval.

There are still 112 inmates suspected of terrorism in Guantanamo Bay, most of whom have been held for years without any charges. Closing the site was one of Obama's campaign pledges during his first campaign.
