A., who served as Yitzhak Rabin's bodyguard the day he was assassinated, has publicly spoken about the incident for the first time.

A. told Channel 2, "We had already finished descending the stairs. We moved forward a little along the sidewalk, and suddenly I heard a shot. I looked to the left and I saw a man, whom I identified afterwards as Yigal Amir, standing with his right arm outstretched. Then there were more shots."

He also spoke about his reaction: "First of all I jumped on him. I used my right hand to hit his shooting hand, and with my left hand I grabbed him by the neck. I punched him, pulled out my handgun and held it to his head. I thought about it, and decided not to fire."
