German police have raided the national soccer federation following accusations that the organization paid FIFA in order to be chosen to host the 2006 World Cup, Associated Press reports.
Prosecutor Nadja Niesen says, "The raids are linked to the awarding of the football World Cup 2006 and the transfer of 6.7 million Euro to FIFA."
Niesen added that police searched the federation's headquarters, as well as two private homes.
