Ashkelon police have arrested a number of illegal squatters over the past few days.
Sunday evening the police received a report of two people apparently stealing building material and placing them in a taxi. A patrol car arrived on the location and detained the two, who were discovered to be illegally residing in Israel. The building equipment was indeed being placed in a taxi, whose driver was also arrested as an accomplice.
