The current Iraqi trade minister has fired seven senior officials who are wanted for charges relating to bribery, Reuters reports.
The previous Trade Minister, Milas Mohamed Abdul Kareem, was indicted for corruption, including bribery, illegal benefits, and misusing his position, last month.
Officials, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the recent firings come as part of "a comprehensive operation... to cleanse the ministry of officials who have any hint of corruption."
