Two Lebanese soldiers and six other people, including two wanted members of organized crime, were killed Monday in a shootout at a nightclub north of Beirut, the Lebanese army released in a statement.
The shooting began when one of the wanted men opened fire at an army intelligence patrol that entered the nightclub searching for suspects. The patrol responded with gunfire.
