Temporary Police Commissioner Bentzi Sau has banned all MKs from entering the Temple Mount for the time being, Channel 2 reports. He announced the decision in a letter to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein (Likud).
"In light of the great tensions surrounding the Temple Mount over the past few weeks, whose results we have seen in riots and murderous terror attacks in Jerusalem, Judea-Samaria, and around the country, and on the basis of the opinions that security officials have expressed to me, I believe that, for now, MKs entering the Temple Mount would increase the tensions on the site, and likely affect the security situation around the country," wrote Sau.
