Lebanon is struggling to pay salaries to its soldiers due to political rivalries, Reuters reports. The payments were scheduled to go out last week, but the Cabinet and the Parliament have not managed to approval the money transfer.

The two bodies, the Cabinet and the Parliament, have been at loggerheads for some time. Their inability to cooperate has led to the much-publicized trash riots and is also responsible for Lebanon not having a president for the past 17 months.
