President Reuven Rivlin on Friday afternoon hosted at his residence in Jerusalem former United States President Bill Clinton, who arrived in Israel to take part in a rally marking 20 years since the murder of former Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin, to be held on Saturday night.

Rivlin greeted Clinton and thanked him for his arrival, saying, "You are a true friend of Israel and the timing of your visit reminds us even more of this."

This is the third meeting between Rivlin and Clinton since Rivlin took office, and the meeting was preceded by meetings between the two in New York and Singapore. At Friday's meeting the two discussed the regional situation as reflected in the everyday reality in Israel. The President and Clinton also discussed regional developments and the common current challenges. They will meet again Saturday night at the rally in which both are expected to speak.
