MK Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid), along with other members of the Knesset, has appealed to the Ministry of Health with a request to change the makeup of the committee that determines what treatments are covered by insurance.
The appeal demands that the committee include reasonable representation for women from different sectors of society.
"Enough, we're tired of the disappearance and the absence. Every public committee must appoint women and men, and inequalities keep occurring with the makeup of the medical treatment committee - we are talking about the lives of our daughters. Who is comfortable with there being only men and why? Why are the Ministry of Finance and the insurance companies sending only male representatives? Do they believe that a woman's life is worth less?"
