Following the nuclear agreement with Iran, the US has agreed to work on civilian nuclear projects with Israel for the first time, Haaretz reports. This development comes despite Israel's not having signed the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.
The report also noted that Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz (Likud) visited Washington and held strategic dialogues with his US counterpart, Ernest Moniz. A summary of the meeting, posted on the US Department of Energy's website, read that "The dialogue, held regularly since 2011, includes staff exchanges and discussions in the areas of natural gas development, cybersecurity, energy-water nexus, civil nuclear energy, and research and development activities."
