German police are using water cannons against left-wing protesters in Cologne, Reuters reports. The protesters are holding a counter-demonstration against the anti-immigration group "Hooligans Against Salafists."
Before turning on the cannons, police say that a number of left-wing protesters assaulted officers.
The counter-protest, made up of about 10,000 participants, vastly outnumbers the 600 "Hooligans."
