President Reuven Rivlin told UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon during their meeting that “Temple Mount is currently being held hostage by those who desire to wage holy war. We cannot allow this. Israel has not and will not change a single letter of the status quo deal.”

The President also responded to the PA bid filed with UNESCO, which establishes that the Kotel (Western Wall) is part of the Al-Aksa mosque, and said that UNESCO “Must staunchly refuse any attempt to deny the Jewish connection to Temple Mount.”
