Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, made it clear in light of last night’s entry of yeshiva students to Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem that “I call to all those who want to pray at Joseph’s Tomb, to do so during the organized events every few weeks, together with the Samaria Regional Council and under IDF supervision and permission. There is a reason it was written, ‘Guard your souls; this is our obligation.’”
Dagan added that “We can nevertheless not ignore the barbarity that the yeshiva students stumbled upon when they tried to express their freedom of religion. I call to the government of Israel to remove the uniformed terrorists called ‘Palestinian officers’ from the holy site of Joseph’s Tomb.”
