A proposed bill on the status of the Settlement Division was discussed on Wednesday morning by the Knesset’s Ministerial Legislative Committee.
During the meeting, MK Stav Shaffir (Zionist Union) claimed that the Committee’s Chairman, Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home), cannot run the debate due to a conflict of interests. According to Shaffir, “The Settlement Division transfers millions of shekels of Torah-observant associations headed by senior members of the Jewish Home party, which earns a lot from the corrupt strategies of the Division.”
Slomiansky instructed that Shaffir be distanced from the talks after asking for the committee’s legal advisor’s opinion on Slomiansky’s conflict of interests.
