The Jerusalem Municipality and local parents’ organization announced that secondary schools in the city will be closed on Thursday due to a lack of funds to have security guards at each building for the entire school day.
Mayor Nir Barkat said that “So long as the government shirks its responsibility to secure educational institutions, we will not let our children be abandoned.”
