Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat joined the initiative launched by the city’s parents’ organizations and announced that he will gradually suspend school in the city as of Thursday, if the government does not fully fund security guards for the entire school day at all of the city’s schools.
The Jerusalem Municipality announced that the strike will begin on Thursday at all secondary schools in the city and will expand to other educational institutions according to need, until a solution is found to the security guard issue.
