Minister for Culture and Sport Miri Regev (Likud) has responded to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's speech at the United Nations.
"We're still talking about this - during Abu Mazen's [another name for Abbas] hypocritical speech an IDF officer and soldier were wounded by stone throwers in Hevron and that's the whole story," she said. "There is no doubt that Abu Mazen's intent is not to find a political solution. Tonight Abu Mazen reminded us all that he is the successor to the mass-murderer Arafat, the man who denied the Holocaust, the man who led with an anti-Jewish and pro-terror approach. This is no different from the speeches of other terrorists who have stood at the UN podium. Abu Mazen, like Arafat and Assad, belongs to the same axis - the axis of evil."
