The Lahav 433 unit of the police arrested two suspects this morning (Wednesday) on suspicion of counterfeiting 5 and 10 shekel coins with the intention of inserting them into the market. Several other people were detained as part of the investigation.
The suspects allegedly kept machines, printing plates, and raw materials for making coins in a Gush Dan storage facility. It is believes that they have already used hundreds of false coins of varying qualities.
