White House: Plan to Train, Arm Syrian Rebels Not As Expected

White House Spokesperson Josh Ernst told MSNBC that the US’s plan to train and arm Syrian rebels to fight the “Islamic State” (ISIS) terrorist organization did not succeed in the way that the US government expected it to.

Ernst also spoke about Russian President Putin’s statement that a change must be made within the Syrian government, calling it “A start.”
